(Left: Frank Ferry unleashing the fury on Tim Ben Boydston)
I LOVE politics, even more than I love my real estate job, which if you know me, you know that I love my job. I always thought Santa Clarita politics was quite boring though (but I still keep a close eye on the happenings), mostly due to the fact we have it pretty good here in the Santa Clarita Valley, and the community usually comes together on most issues, except for the SCOPE environmentalist types.
At a October 9, 2007 city council meeting, there was an item on the consent calendar that was basically being pushed through by the Parks Department, except it didn’t due to the fact that Santa Clarita Councilmember Tim Ben Boydston felt like letting it be known that he was dissapointed about how this item was not being presented before the “public”, in other words he wanted to see some sort of public hearing on this item, and have some sort of investigative analysis done to determine if it is going to be an appropriate use of public tax dollars.
The item in question is a Sports Complex project called “Field Of Dreams“. This post isn’t about that project. It’s about the circulation of blood finally flowing through those council chambers. Finally, its not just an argument between environmental group figure heads versus the councilmembers! Its Councilmembers versus Councilmembers! Ever since Tim Ben Boydston came around, after being appointed to the vacated post left behind by Cameron Smyth, who ran for and was elected to the California State Assembly, there just seems to be a lot of tension in the council chambers!
Check out this showdown between Santa Clarita councilmember Frank Ferry, and Santa Clarita Councilmember Tim Ben Boydston, who by the way, Frank Ferry seems to hold a tad bit of dislike for!

Video Clip Two – TimBen responding to attacks on him made by Frank, and Councilmember Marsha Mclean soft echoes of Franks sentiments towards Tim Ben
Video Clip Three – Frank Ferry refusing to apologize! Wants to go on record as that being the case too!
This “Field Of Dreams”, is about a privatly owned sports complex that the city would use public funds to construct. We are talking public funds in the amount of about $30-$60 million dollars. Frank Ferry really took offense to the type of language and basically distrust that Tim Ben displayed for his fellow councilmembers.
There are more clips to this heated exchange than I am posting here, you can view the remainder of the clips at http://www.newsbyte.com/Ferry/
Grab the popcorn!
