Santa Clarita Home Inventory: 188 drop

There was a nice end of the year drop in the Santa Clarita real estate listing inventory. Usually the inventory decreases during this time of year historically, and increases again come February and after. The drop off was pretty sizable though!

As of December 6, 2007, there was a listing inventory of 2,312 homes for sale in Santa Clarita.

As of today, January 2, 2008, there is a listing inventory of 2,124 homes for sale in Santa Clarita.

That’s a nice 188 drop in a matter of less than 4 weeks.

A lot of Realtors, I bet, simply made it so that their unsold listings would expire on 12/31/2007.

The listing inventory dropped nicely from about 2,500 listings back in September 2007. But at the current pace of sales closing escrow in Santa Clarita, even 2,100 listings is too many to prevent a further decline in prices.

Look for the inventory to start growing in February, and continue to do so through the early Summer.
