Santa Clarita Homes Inventory – at 1,490

Today, we passed below 1,500 homes for sale in Santa Clarita, down to 1,490 homes for sale. This represents just about a 4-5 month supply of homes, based on the pace of sales recorded at the end of August.

The entire year we’ve seen a continual decline of homes for sale in Santa Clarita. A lower inventory is a healthy thing, if the goal is to put a stop to the price declines. This decline in inventory, has been a direct result of all of the incredible deals the Santa Clarita foreclosures have presented, which in turn brought out the cavalry of buyers. More foreclosures have yet to hit the market, so we’ll continue to see some price declines in various portions of our valley, but not in the percentages that have already taken place. Look for Santa Clarita home sales in the fall and winter 08, to be better than usual!
