Home owners and business owners within all of the Southern California counties who suffered a qualified loss due to the wildfires than began October 21, 2007 are now eligible for federal and state tax relief. The deadline for time sensitive items due on or after October 21, 2007, will now be extended to January 31, 2008. Items such as your federal withholding tax return, or your estimated 4th quarter taxes, are now apart of this extension.

An excellent article at Realtimes.com explains the exact benefits, and links to a form that assists in determining any casualty loss deduction.
